Within the framework of the Festival, representatives of the Greek section of “Creative Europe” will present to the public, the guest artists and the cultural institutions of the island the objectives of the program as well as the possibilities and ways of financing their artistic projects.

    Panel discussion on artistic approaches to pregnancy.

    Birth Land is a co-creative art project of Collectif States (France), Pedio Technis (Greece ) and Artfrakcija (Serbia), which aspires to explore the issue of female identity in the arts during pregnancy. What are the social, cultural and health challenges faced by female artists during pregnancy in different countries? How do they perceive their social role after the birth? How many career opportunities are women in the art industry afforded during pregnancy?

    The starting point of the story is a real news that shocked Greek public opinion in 2019. An infant is attacked by the family’s own dog, in the presence of his mother, who “with great persistence managed to get her child out of its jaws ». Then fiction takes over and comes to pose the question: how can life continue after such an event?

  • 12.00 Creative writing workshop

    On the occasion of the play «La Lupa» the writer and director Georgia Pierroutsakou will deliver a creative writing workshop under the title “When the Theater is inspired by Life”. Participants will be asked to compose a story inspired by a current issue and create a theatrical dialogue scene combining real and fictional elements.

  • Daily 12.00 Cinema workshop

    Under the guidance of film critic Antonis Lagarias, each child will discover the basic theories and techniques of cinema (direction, photography, editing). In groups, the children will make their own film creations which will be presented in a special screening at the end of the festival.

    Starting from the Archaeological Museum of Samothrace in Palaiapolis, and using the special Narratologies mobile application, the Festival invites visitors to take part in a game that combines education with fun through technology with the aim of discover the hidden aspects of the ancient site.
